Sharon and Leesl met in 1980 as high school freshmen in theatre class. The foundation of their lifelong friendship was built during late-night rehearsals, production wrap parties, and all the laughter, tears, high heels, big hair, and angst of their shared Gen X adolescence.

They were both adopted at birth in the days when birth records were sealed. They knew little about their origin stories until a few days after their 20th high school reunion when one of their classmates helped Sharon find her family. This experience was full of magic and fate, the undeniable power of DNA, and the indescribable joy of finding more people to love and adore.

Twenty years later, as Leesl was struggling through chemo for Stage 4 colon cancer, the results of a DNA search came back and she found her family. Her first call was to Sharon, and through the tears and strategizing about what to do next, Sharon suggested they share their DNA service profiles and were instantly connected as cousins, several times removed, but kin nonetheless!

My first encounter over twenty years ago with Reiki was nothing short of a revelation—a moment of awakening that set me on a journey of spiritual growth. Four years later, I earned the honor of becoming a Usui Reiki Master, a role that allows me to not only continue to provide Reiki sessions but also to teach and pass on this divine gift. Yet, in the vast expanse of universal energy, I remain a humble student, ever-learning and ever-evolving.

I grew up in a deeply spiritual home, full of Jewish mysticism, meditation, astrology, drum circles, spiritual retreats, and metaphysical magic.

In the past 4 years, I have experienced a true existential crisis, as I fight to survive multiple cancers. I began playing singing bowls to enhance my daily spiritual practice and quickly realized that giving sound baths to others is even more healing for me.

A grateful recipient of Sharon’s healing Reiki energy, I am extremely excited that we have an opportunity to work together to help others find the joy of spiritual connection and build a community of light in this dark time.
